Protect Mode Configuration

The Protect mode is a powerful way to protect your workspaces, for example in teaching situations or in autonomous installations.

More specifically, if you do not want the user to change anything in your workspace, as it should be, for example, in interactive terminals.

Interactive terminal

When the protect mode is activated, only the racks and various commands/panels that you can choose, are visible.

In the following example, only the mains commands are visible and it's impossible to break down the workspace.

Example of protected mode

How to use

Type the password anywhere in an Usine’s window to activate/deactivate the protect mode.

If you have workspace(s) that you want to be loaded in protect mode proceed as follow:

  • create a folder named /Deploy/ in the Usine's package root folder. On MAC, right click on the .app and choose view content of the package.
  • put any workspace in the /Deploy/ folder.
  • Quit and restart Usine.

Usine will be automatically started in protect mode and the start-page-panel will only display the content of the /Deploy/ folder, like in the screenshot bellow:

Start page in Deploy mode

If the /Deploy/ folder contains only one workspace,

this workspace is loaded directly and no start-page is displayed.

In conjunction with the workspace settings you can create very precise layouts for your project:

  • Auto play, turns the audio engine ON automatically.
  • Auto play Grid, starts the grid automatically.
  • Show Grid, display the grid automatically.
  • Show interface builder, opens the interface builder automatically.
